Step is a dance based on rhythm and music produced by the dancer’s own body. The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women step team are getting ready for a big step competition – and

preparing their college applications. The camera follows three members of the step group in particular: Blessin Giraldo, Cori Grainger and Tayla Solomon.

Step by Broadway producer and director Amanda Lipitz is a touching and inspiring documentary, that even Michelle Obama has praised on Twitter. A wide scale of emotions is portrayed, as The Lethal Ladies try to conquer performance and life challenges.

The documentary also examines important social issues, such as the racist tensions in the US, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Poverty has a far-reaching impact and education is extremely important. To stay in the step group, the young women must perform well in their studies.

As a viewer, you will be rooting for The Lethal Ladies, both in the competition and in life.
