The Festival Programme is by invitation only, there is no submission for international films.

DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival is organised by DocPoint-elokuvatapahtumat ry. The 18th edition of DocPoint will be held on January 28th – February 3rd 2019 in Helsinki. The festival is non-competitive.

The international films screened are by invitation only, there is no submission. The festival mainly presents recently released creative feature documentary films which have not been screened prior to the festival in Finland nor are available online. The program is curated and by invitation only.

In case the production country of your film is Finland you’re able to submit your film to our Finnish Premieres programme or New Finnish Visions Student Film Programme. Please read more information here.

In case you feel that our programme team should really hear about your film, you can approach them sending the following information to programme (at)

  • Name of your film in English and in the original language
  • Length
  • Production country + co-production countries
  • Completion year
  • Contact details for contact person (production company + distribution company)
  • Short synopsis (max 500 characters)
  • Link to the online screener
  • Screening copy (DCP / no DCP)
  • Tell us why your film is important and why should the festival take your film into consideration.

Please notice that the festival will respond only to those suggestions they are interested to know more about. The programme team won’t comment on the films or give feedback while the programming process.
