Iiris Härmä is a Finnish director and screenwriter and one of the founders on Guerilla Films production company. Härmä has explored various topics in her films, such as social exclusion of teens, equality, conservation of nature and artificial intelligence. Härmä’s new film Shepherds of the Earth takes place in Kenya’s Lake Turkana, which is often called the Cradle of Humankind. The film follows University of Helsinki researchers who travel to Kenya to study the Daasanach tribe’s relationship with nature. The documentary is a part of DocPoint’s National Competition.
