Hogir Hirori

Born in 1980 in Iraqi Kurdistan, film director Hogir Hirori fled to Sweden in 1999 and settled in Stockholm. His previous film The Deminer was screened at DocPoint in 2019. Hirori’s newest documentary Sabaya is a breath-taking work, which follows how the Yazidi Home Center organisation saves women captured by Isis from the Al-Hol camp in Syria. The film was awarded at the Sundance Film Festival, and takes part in DocPoint’s International Competition.
