Cara Holmes is a film director, editor and queer activist from Ireland who has been a part of the production of numerous documentary films. Apart from filmmaking, she has played in several queer and feminist post punk bands and toured in Europe.
Holmes has directed the film Notes from Sheepland that is screened in DocPoint. The unhurried document follows the artist Orla Barry and her life as a contemporary artist and a shepherd. The film was awarded as the best documentary both at Dublin International Film Festival and at DocsIreland last year. Holmes’ previous films include the film Welcome To A Bright White Limbo (2019) which is a combination of documentary and dance film and it has won several awards in Ireland.
