Annie Berman is an American media artist whose films, performances, and installations have been presented internationally at film festivals, museums, galleries, and universities. She lives in New York, where her work has been shown at places like the Museum of Modern Art.
Berman has studied photography and psychology, and the topics of religion, visual culture and the changing media landscape are often present in her work. In her earlier films, she has studied the limits of virtual reality in experimental ways.
Her essay film The Faithful: The King, the Pope, the Princess handles the subject of idolisation and fan culture and is part of DocPoint’s International Competition.
