Helsinki native Anna-Karin Grönroos’s (1980) previous film Conductivity held its premiere last year at DocPoint’s 2020 festival. The film went on to tour numerous international festivals, and win the top prize at Tampere Film Festival. Grönroos’s first feature-length documentary Ecopolis China had its premiere at IDFA. Competing in DocPoint’s Finnish Competition series whilst also presenting its world premiere there, Future Remains explores the 1980 manifest of Henrik Wahlforss (1939–2015) which details time travel to 2030. The film is Grönroos’s graduation work in documentary film from Aalto University.
