Koho – Future from Forssa

Portrait of a forgotten visionary, Kari Aro, founder of the hockey stick company Koho, in a small Finnish town called Forssa, in the 60’s. With the amazing overnight success of the company, Aro’s futuristic ideas how business and societies could be run started to unfold to the astonishment of the local community. This heart-warming and humorous film recounts the untold story of Koho hockey sticks and their world and Aro’s utopian vision for a better future.

Production notes

The film’s main character is Kari Aro, an economist by education who was known as a hockey player, a businessman, an author, as well as a ufologist. Thanks to his creative vision and his unique leadership style, the company developed into the success story of its time. Both the employees of the company and the city of Forssa got to enjoy Koho’s success, which brings forth themes of the roles and responsibilities of corporations in our society. In the film, the story of Aro and Koho is remembered by his friends, coworkers, and family members.
