The anniversary edition programme will be released on 14.1.2021. Tickets go on sale on 22.1.
The 20th anniversary edition of DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival will be held as an online festival on 29.1–7.2.2021. The original plan was the hold the festival as a hybrid event, both in cinemas and online, however due to the Corona restrictions in Helsinki and Uusimaa, the festival will now be held entirely online.
–In the face of the current pandemic and ongoing restrictions, we didn’t have any other choice but to move this year’s festival entirely online. But the positive side of this, is that now everybody in Finland gets the same chance to enjoy DocPoint. We will have our usual, stellar roundup of both national and international films. We have a great festival in store for you, says DocPoint Executive Director Tapio Riihimäki.
The anniversary programme of DocPoint will remain largely the same, with the exception of festival events. The festival has a vast selection of the most interesting documentaries around right now, from both Finland and around the world. There are several world premieres in the line-up, as well as films awarded in international festivals, and a variety of interesting newcomers.
– This year’s themes higlight diversity, environment and sense of community, among other topics , says artistic director Kati Juurus.
The entire programme will be released on Thursday 14.1.2021. Ticket sales will begin on Friday 22.1.
